SUMMARY:Gardens of Paradise
DESCRIPTION:Met Gardens of Paradise nodigt Casco Phil het publiek uit voor een muzikale reis van verbeelding\, verwondering en vernieuwing. Centraal in dit programma staat pianist Noah Vanden Abeele\, een muzikant die de voorbije jaren een geheel eigen plaats heeft verworven binnen het Belgische muzieklandschap. Vanden Abeele combineert een stevige klassieke achtergrond met een uitgesproken affectie voor een minimalistische\, beeldrijke klankenwereld. Zo beweegt hij zich als pianist\, componist en improvisator moeiteloos tussen traditie en experiment. \nEen bijzondere plaats is weggelegd voor een wereldpremière van componiste en violiste Margaret Hermant. Ook zij zoekt in haar werk naar raakvlakken tussen klassieke tradities\, verbeelding en een eigentijdse klankentaal. Met Gardens of Paradise brengt Casco Phil gevestigde artistieke kwaliteit en hedendaagse creativiteit samen in één concertavond. Daarvan is zijn Vijfde Symfonie\, bijgenaamd ‘Noodlotsymfonie’\, beslist het bekendste voorbeeld. Met amper vier noten (kort-kort-kort-lang) legde Beethoven de negentiende-eeuwse toonspraak definitief in een nieuwe plooi. Ook het Vioolconcerto van Beethoven behoort volgens menig melomaan tot de allermooiste voorbeelden van het genre. \nVoor dit Beethovenjubileum deelt Casco Phil het podium met de jonge Nederlandse stervioliste Hawijch Elders\, die in 2025 de hoofdprijs wegkaapte op de prestigieuze Antonio Mormone-wedstrijd in de Scala van Milaan. Een spannende prelude op dit iconische tweeluik wordt voor de gelegenheid geschreven door de Irakese all-roundmuzikant Osama Abdulrasol\, die hoge ogen gooit als componist met een unieke muzikale signatuur.
